About Me

Software Engineer with 8+ years of experience building and evolving production software. I combine full-stack development with a strong foundation in backend systems, distributed systems, and software architecture, taking end-to-end ownership from design through production operations.

I’ve worked on APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures, and web applications. I’ve led core service development, supported migrations, and built services adopted by multiple teams. I approach engineering with a product mindset, collaborating with Product, Design, and Engineering to balance business needs with simplicity, reliability, and maintainability.

AI-assisted and spec-driven development are part of my practice. I use coding agents and MCP while keeping engineering judgment and quality at the center. I’m also expanding my knowledge of AI Engineering, particularly LLM-powered applications and agentic systems.

For more than six years I worked on a large-scale e-commerce platform, across the Payments, Promotions, and Account & Security domains, as well as cross-cutting services.

I owned backend and frontend work end to end across the platform core, the store admin panel, the storefront, and checkout: from technical design and API contracts through implementation, testing, deployment, and production monitoring.

I provided technical leadership within agile teams, collaborating with Product, Design, and Engineering and using Jira for planning and tracking. Day to day, I used Docker for local development environments; GitHub Actions, CircleCI, and Argo CD for validation workflows, automated tests, and deployments to staging and production; and Datadog, Kibana, and Loggly for logs, metrics, traces, dashboards, and monitoring.

2019–2023

Payments

Helped design the transition from native integrations to an API- and microservices-based platform, and led development of its core services with Scala, Akka, Play, and MongoDB. The platform enabled integrations with 30+ payment providers across five countries.

01 · Context

The platform relied on native, one-off integrations with each payment provider, which made it costly to add new providers and expand into new countries.

02 · Architecture

I helped design an API- and microservices-based platform that decoupled checkout from each provider's specific integration, with common contracts for onboarding, charges, refunds, and notifications.

03 · Implementation

I led development of the platform's core services with Scala, Akka, Play, and MongoDB, and supported the progressive migration of existing providers to the new model without interrupting ongoing operations.

04 · Public API

I wrote the specifications and documentation for the payments platform's public API, aimed at making it simpler to integrate new providers.

05 · Security

We added validations and additional controls to reduce fraud and protect sensitive payment data, in line with each provider's and country's requirements.

06 · Expansion

The new architecture made it possible to integrate 30+ payment providers across five countries (Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, and Chile), adapting to each region's regulatory and market particularities.

07 · Result

The platform simplified integrating new payment providers and made regional expansion of Nuvemshop's checkout easier.

2024

Account & Security

Took part in building a new domain focused on account security, authentication, permissions, and session management, and in implementing 2FA and controls for sensitive actions.

01 · Context

Account security and access management were spread across several domains, with no unified view of authentication, permissions, and sessions.

02 · Design

I took part in designing a dedicated domain to centralize authentication, permissions, and session management, with a data and event model built to scale to new security use cases.

03 · Implementation

I took part in implementing two-factor authentication (2FA), session management, and additional controls for sensitive account actions, reducing the risk surface against unauthorized access.

04 · Result

We laid the groundwork for a dedicated account security domain, able to evolve toward new access controls and policies.

2024–2025

Promotions

Nuvemshop's promotions were basic, and many sellers relied on third-party apps. I contributed to building a dedicated domain with Java, Spring, and PostgreSQL, featuring more flexible discounts, combination rules, and a public API.

01 · Context

The platform's native promotions were limited (mainly simple discounts), so many sellers turned to third-party apps to build more sophisticated promotions.

02 · Design

We designed a dedicated promotions domain with more flexible discounts (by product, category, order value, free shipping, among others) and rules for combining them.

03 · Implementation

I contributed to developing the domain's services with Java, Spring, and PostgreSQL, using Redis to cache promotions.

04 · Public API

We exposed a public discounts API so partners and third-party apps could integrate with the new promotions engine, expanding the ecosystem around the domain.

05 · Coordination

I worked closely with Product, Design, and the Checkout and Catalog teams to ensure promotions behaved consistently across the platform.

06 · Result

The new domain gave sellers more flexibility to build campaigns without relying on third-party apps, and the public API enabled partners and apps to integrate with the promotions engine.

2024–2025

Store Activity Logs

Designed and implemented, end to end, a cross-cutting service to record and query user actions, built with Node.js, NestJS, TypeScript, Kafka, and Elasticsearch. I documented it, presented it to Engineering, and other domains adopted it.

01 · Context

There was no standardized way to record and query the actions users performed within the store admin panel, which made traceability and incident investigation harder.

02 · Design & Implementation

I designed and implemented the service with Node.js, NestJS, TypeScript, Kafka, and Elasticsearch, built to be consumed by multiple platform domains without coupling to each one's business logic.

03 · Infrastructure

I deployed and monitored Elasticsearch and Kibana on AWS EC2 to store and query the logs.

04 · Adoption

I documented the service and presented it to Engineering; following that presentation, other domains adopted it to record their own user actions.

05 · Result

The service standardized how user actions are recorded across the platform and made traceability and incident investigation easier, without each domain having to build its own logging.

Full Stack Developer

Built full-stack self-service and academic administration features with PHP, Twig, and JavaScript for the school's academic management system, used by students, faculty, and administrative staff.

Took part in modernizing the system and migrating it to SIU Guaraní, working with SIU-Toba and collaborating with academic and administrative stakeholders.

Also wrote and optimized SQL queries for frequent system operations.

How I Work

  • Understand before designing

    I start with the problem, its context, and the product's needs. Understanding the domain first helps me choose the right level of abstraction and avoid unnecessary complexity.

  • Design systems built to evolve

    I work on system design, distributed architectures, and domain modeling, with clear boundaries. I factor in scale and performance without over-engineering: architecture should make change easier.

  • Design APIs and contracts

    I design APIs and contracts with their usage, evolution, and failure modes in mind. I look for abstractions that solve real problems without adding unnecessary complexity.

  • Build reliable software

    I treat testing, observability, monitoring, and maintainability as part of building software, not as afterthoughts.

  • Work end to end

    I own features end to end, from understanding the problem and defining contracts to building the backend and frontend, validating behavior, and supporting them in production.
